Rope Tracking Line
Hand-spliced, no stitching, nothing to fail.
Every one of these is made by hand, start to finish. Heavy-duty 12mm polyester hollow-core mooring line, brummel locking splices and the tail buried back through the rope - no stitching or rope clamps waiting to fail. With a breaking strain of 1,747kg's and locking splices at each join, it will take a whole lot more than your pooch dragging you around to make this rope fail.
The rope itself is the reason I use it. Hollow core makes it light in the hand for its size, it doesn't soak up and hold water the way traditional double braid does, and it's got good UV resistance and flex so it stays soft to handle instead of going stiff and unmanageable.
I wanted each lead to suit the individual's needs, exactly how you want it without having to compromise. Choose your length, your hardware and the handle setup you want - I'll build it to suit. Marine grade, 316 stainless steel hardware as standard, anything else is fully load rated from a reputable manufacturer. All hardware is attached by a gear loop, which means the hardware can be swapped out for whatever you like, whenever you like.
Are you after something specific that we don't list, or a length that isn't on here? Email covertcanineco@gmail.com and we'll be more than happy to sort it out.
For handlers, by handlers.

Built the way you handle!
This line sums up why Covert Canine exists. I couldn't find a tracking line that did what I needed with my operational dog, so I started making my own. It took plenty of trial and error, and this is what I landed on.
Everyone handles a bit differently and everyone's got their own preferences, so each line is built to order and set up the way you want it. Pick your length, handle and hardware, and if what you're after isn't listed, just ask.
Pick your handle
The handle's a personal thing, so there are a few ways to finish it. Whichever you choose, it's spliced the same way as the rest of the line, with no stitching to wear through. Current options include:
Handle: spliced loop handle
Handle with floating ring: spliced loop handle with a stainless ring floating in it
No handle: clean spliced end, no loop
No handle with fixed ring: clean spliced end with a fixed stainless ring in it
Pick your hardware
The smart end finishes in a spliced gear loop, so the hardware isn't permanent. If a hook wears out or you want to run something different, swap it over and keep the line. Already got hardware you trust? Take it bare and fit your own.
No hardware: spliced eye left bare, ready for your own
90mm stainless snap hook: the standard option
120mm stainless snap hook: heavy duty
Slip lead: fixed stainless ring in the end instead of a hardware eye
